Declara Allan Kardec: “A crença é um ato de entendimento que, por isso mesmo, não pode ser imposta”.
E ousamos acrescentar que isso ocorre, porquanto cada consciência cultiva a fé segundo o degrau evolutivo em que se coloca ou de conformidade com a posição circunstancial em que vive.
Não seria justo violentar o cérebro da criança, ao peso de indagações filosóficas, porque lhe não aceitemos as convicções infantis. Faz-se imperioso ouvi-la com paciência, guiando-lhe os raciocínios para os objetivos da lógica.
É crueldade censurar o náufrago porque se agarre à tábua lodosa, provisoriamente incapaz de partilhar-nos a embarcação confortável. Ao invés disso, é forçoso lhe estendamos concurso fraterno.
Excessos dogmáticos, lances de fanatismo, opiniões prepotentes, medidas de intolerância e injúrias teológicas podem ser hoje consideradas por enfermidades das instituições humanas, destinadas a desaparecer com a terapêutica silenciosa da evolução e do tempo, embora constituam para todos nós, os espíritas-cristãos encarnados e desencarnados, constantes desafios a mais amplo serviço na sementeira da luz.
Sabemos que a individualidade consciente é responsável pelos próprios destinos; que a Lei funciona em cada espírito, atribuindo isso ou aquilo a cada um, conforme as próprias obras; que Deus é o Infinito Amor e a Justiça Perfeita, e que as forças do Universo não acalentam favoritismo para ninguém. Todavia, conquanto sustentando a fé raciocinada, nos alicerces do livre exame, cabem-nos, sem qualquer atitude louvaminheira para com os tabus e preconceitos que ainda enxameiam no campo religioso da Terra, o dever de clarear o caminho dos nossos irmãos de humanidade, em bases de auxílio, de vez que o Criador concede à criatura os meios indispensáveis para que efetue por si mesma a própria libertação.
É por isso que Jesus proclamou: “Conhecereis a verdade e a verdade vos fará livres”.
Não disse o mestre que o mundo já conhecia a verdade, nem precisou a ocasião em que a verdade será geralmente conhecida entre os homens. Mas dando a entender que a verdade é luz divina, conquistada pelo trabalho e pelo merecimento de cada um, afirmou, simplesmente: “conhecereis”.

Allan Kardec declares: “Belief is an act of understanding that, for that very reason, cannot be imposed”.
And we dare to add that this occurs, as each conscience cultivates faith according to the evolutionary step in which it places itself or according to the circumstantial position in which it lives.
It would not be fair to violate the child's brain, under the weight of philosophical questions, because we do not accept childish convictions. It is imperative to listen to her patiently, guiding her reasoning towards the objectives of logic.
It is cruel to blame the castaway because he clings to the muddy board, temporarily unable to share the comfortable boat with us. Instead, we must extend fraternal tenderness to him.
Dogmatic excesses, fanaticism, boastful opinions, measures of intolerance and theological insults can be considered today as diseases of human institutions, destined to disappear with the silent therapy of evolution and time, although they constitute for all of us, incarnate Christian Spiritists. and disembodied, constant challenges to a wider service in the sowing of light.
We know that conscious individuality is responsible for its own destinies; that the Law works in every spirit, attributing this or that to each, according to their own works; that God is Infinite Love and Perfect Justice, and that the forces of the Universe cherish no favoritism for anyone. However, while supporting reasoned faith, on the basis of free examination, it is up to us, without any praising attitude towards the taboos and prejudices that still swarm in the religious field of the Earth, the duty of clearing the path of our brothers of humanity, in bases of help, since the Creator grants the creature the indispensable means for him to effect his own liberation.
That's why Jesus proclaimed: "You will know the truth and the truth will make you free".
The master did not say that the world already knew the truth, nor did he specify the time when the truth will generally be known among men. But implying that the truth is divine light, conquered by the work and merit of each one, he simply stated: “you will know”.
