É criação do próprio espírito.
A virtude não é contentamento futuro.
É júbilo que já existe.
A morte não é santificação automática.
É mudança de trabalho e de clima.
O futuro não é surpresa atordoante.
É consequência dos atos presentes.
O bem não é o conforto do próximo, apenas.
É ajuda a nós mesmos.
Deus é Equidade Soberana, não castiga nem perdoa, mas o ser consciente profere para si mesmo as sentenças de absolvição ou culpa ante as Leis Divinas.
Nossa conduta é o processo, nossa consciência o tribunal.
Não nos esqueçamos, portanto, de que, se a Doutrina Espírita dilata o entendimento da vida, amplia a responsabilidade da criatura.
As raízes das grandes provas irrompem do passado – subsolo da nossa existência –, e, na estrada da evolução, quem sai de uma vida entra em outra, porque berço e túmulo são, simultaneamente, entradas e saídas em planos de Vida Eterna.

Neither punishment nor forgiveness

Happiness is not a mirage of the future.
It's today's reality.
Pain is not forged by someone else.
It is the creation of the spirit itself.
Virtue is not future contentment.
It is joy that already exists.
Death is not automatic sanctification.
It's work and climate change.
The future is no stunning surprise.
It is a consequence of present acts.
Good is not just the comfort of others.
It's helping ourselves.
God is Sovereign Equity, he neither punishes nor forgives, but the conscious being pronounces the sentences of absolution or guilt before the Divine Laws.
Our conduct is the process, our conscience the court.
Let us not forget, therefore, that if the Spiritist Doctrine expands the understanding of life, it expands the responsibility of the creature.
The roots of the great trials erupt from the past – the subsoil of our existence – and, on the path of evolution, whoever leaves one life enters another, because cradle and grave are, simultaneously, entrances and exits in plans of Eternal Life.
