Em louvor da oração / In praise of prayer
Pediste em oração a cura de doentes amados e a morte apagou-lhes as pupilas, regelando-te o coração; solicitaste o afastamento da prova e o acidente ocorreu, esmagando-te as esperanças; suplicaste a sustação da moléstia e a doença chegou a infligir-te deformidade completa; imploraste suprimentos materiais e a carência te bate à porta.
Mas se não abandonares a prece, aliado ao exercício das boas obras, granjearás paciência e serenidade, entendendo, por fim, que a desencarnação foi socorro providencial, impedindo sofrimentos insuportáveis; que o desastre se constituiu em medida de emergência para evitar calamidade contra quedas morais de soerguimento difícil e que as dificuldades da penúria são lições da vida, a fim de que a finança demasiada não se faça veneno ou explosivo nas suas mãos.
Da mesma forma quando suplicamos perdão das próprias faltas à Eterna Justiça, não bastam o pranto de compunção e a postura de reverência. Após o reconhecimento dos compromissos que nos são debitados no livro do espírito, continuamos tão aflitos e tão desditosos quanto antes. Contudo, se perseveramos na prece, com o serviço das boas ações que nos atestam a corrigenda, a breve trecho perceberemos que a Lei nos restitui a tranquilidade e a libertação, com o ensejo de apagar as consequências de nossos erros, reintegrando-nos no respeito e na estima de todos aqueles que erigimos à condição de credores e adversários.
Se guardas esse ou aquele problema de consciência, depois de haver rogado perdão à Divina Bondade, sob o pretexto de continuar no fogo invisível da inquietação, não te afastes da prece mesmo assim.
Prossegue orando, fiel ao bem que te revele o espírito renovado.
A prece forma o campo do pensamento puro e toda construção respeitável começa na ideia nobre.
Realmente, sem trabalho que o efetive, o mais belo plano é sempre um belo plano a perder-se.
Não vale prometer sem cumprir.
A oração dentro da alma comprometida em lutas na sombra, assemelha-se à lâmpada que se acende numa casa desarranjada; a presença da luz não altera a situação do ambiente desajustado e nem remove os detritos acumulados no recinto doméstico, entretanto, mostra sem alarde, o serviço que se deve fazer.

In praise of prayer
You asked in prayer for the healing of loved ones and death blotted out their pupils, freezing your heart; you asked to withdraw from the race and the accident occurred, crushing your hopes; you begged for the disease to be stopped, and the disease came to inflict complete deformity on you; you have begged for material supplies and want is knocking at your door.
But if you do not abandon prayer, combined with the exercise of good works, you will gain patience and serenity, finally understanding that disincarnation was a providential help, preventing unbearable suffering; that the disaster was an emergency measure to avoid calamity against moral falls that are difficult to rise and that the difficulties of penury are life lessons, so that too much finance does not become poison or explosive in your hands.
In the same way, when we beg forgiveness of our own faults to the Eternal Justice, weeping of compunction and a posture of reverence are not enough. After the acknowledgment of the commitments that are charged to us in the book of the spirit, we remain as afflicted and as unhappy as before. However, if we persevere in prayer, with the service of good deeds that attest to the corrigendum, we will soon realize that the Law restores us to tranquility and liberation, with the opportunity to erase the consequences of our mistakes, reintegrating us in the respect and in the esteem of all those whom we have raised to the status of creditors and adversaries.
If you keep this or that problem of conscience, after having begged forgiveness from Divine Goodness, under the pretext of continuing in the invisible fire of restlessness, do not depart from prayer even so.
Continue praying, faithful to the good that the renewed spirit reveals to you.
Prayer forms the field of pure thought, and all respectable construction begins with the noble idea.
Indeed, without work to make it effective, the most beautiful plan is always a beautiful plan to be lost.
It's not worth promising without fulfilling.
Prayer within the soul engaged in struggles in the shadows is like the lamp that is lit in a broken house; the presence of light does not change the situation of the unsuitable environment nor does it remove the debris accumulated in the domestic environment, however, it shows without fanfare, the service that must be done.
