Oração na festa das mães / Prayer at the Mother's Day

Senhor Jesus!

Prayer at the Mother's Day

Lord Jesus!
Together with the brothers who revere the mothers who love them, for whom we pray the laurels they deserved, although attentive to the law of cause and effect, which the Spiritist Doctrine recommends us to consider, we come to ask you to bless the forgotten mothers, for whom motherhood is erected in purgatory of affliction.
For those who lie in the vastness of the night, clutching the shoots of their own blood to their chests, so that they do not die of cold; for those who stretch out their weary hands in the public square, begging, in the name of compassion, for the sustenance that the world owes them to need; for those who take refuge, in the caves of nature, accommodating sick children among the animal feces; the ones that rummage through garbage cans looking for rotten food that the dogs themselves turn away in disgust; for those who paint their faces, hiding tears, to the unfortunate impulse of selling their own bodies to soulless hearts, believing that only in this way will they be able to medicate their children who the disease threatens with death; for those who discovered slander and gall in the mouths they nursed; for those who were despised in difficult moments; for those who became sentinels of moral agony, next to the cots of ordeal; for the widowhood that she surrendered to the greed of unconscious creditors; for those who went mad with pain and were locked up in asylums; and for those others that the old age of the flesh covered with white hair and, without anyone wanting them, were welcomed like shadows of the world, in the arms of charity!...
It is they, Lord, the heroines of the rear, who pay the Earth the highest tributes of suffering...
You who comforted the Samaritan woman and dried up the weeping of the widow of Nain, who restored the Magdalene's balance and raised Jairus' girl, remember the daughters of Jerusalem who shared with you the agonies of the cross, when all abandoned you, and have mercy on women!…
