“Mas eu roguei por ti, para que a tua fé não desfaleça.” - Jesus. (Lucas, 22:32.)
Justo destacar que Jesus, ciente de que Simão permanecia num mundo em que imperam as vantagens de caráter material, não intercedesse, junto ao Pai, a fim de que lhe não faltassem recursos físicos, tais como a satisfação do corpo, a remuneração substanciosa ou a consideração social.
Declara o Mestre haver pedido ao Supremo Senhor para que em Pedro não se enfraqueça o dom da fé.
Salientou, assim, o Cristo, a necessidade essencial da criatura humana, no que se refere à confiança em Deus, num círculo de lutas onde todos os benefícios visíveis estão sujeitos à transformação e à morte.
Testemunhava que, de todas as realizações sublimes do homem atual, a fé viva e ativa é das mais difíceis de serem consolidadas. Reconhecia que a segurança espiritual dos companheiros terrestres não é obra de alguns dias, porque pequeninos acontecimentos podem interrompê-la, feri-la, adiá-la. A ingratidão de um amigo, um gesto impensado, a incompreensão de alguém, uma insignificante dificuldade, podem prejudicar-lhe o desenvolvimento.
Em plena oficina humana, portanto, é imprescindível reconheças a transitoriedade de todos os bens transferíveis que te cercam. Mobiliza-os sempre, atendendo aos superiores desígnios da fraternidade que nos ensinam a amar-nos uns aos outros com fidelidade e devotamento. Convence-te, porém, de que a fé viva na vitória final do espírito eterno é o óleo divino que nos sustenta a luz interior para a divina ascensão.

Essential need

It is fair to point out that Jesus, aware that Simon remained in a world where material advantages prevail, did not intercede with the Father so that he would not lack physical resources, such as body satisfaction, substantial remuneration or social consideration.

Thus, Christ highlighted the essential need of the human creature, with regard to trust in God, in a circle of struggles where all visible benefits are subject to transformation and death.
He testified that, of all the sublime achievements of modern man, living and active faith is one of the most difficult to consolidate. He recognized that the spiritual security of earthly companions is not the work of a few days, because small events can interrupt it, hurt it, postpone it. A friend's ingratitude, a thoughtless gesture, someone's incomprehension, an insignificant difficulty, can harm your development.
In the middle of the human workshop, therefore, it is essential to recognize the transience of all transferable goods that surround you. He always mobilizes them, heeding the superior designs of the fraternity that teach us to love one another with fidelity and devotion. Convince yourself, however, that living faith in the final victory of the eternal spirit is the divine oil that sustains us the interior light for the divine ascension.
