O culto cristão no lar / Christian worship at home

O apóstolo pensou alguns momentos e respondeu, hesitante:
—Mestre, naturalmente, escolhemos os peixes melhores. Ninguém compra os resíduos da pesca.
Jesus sorriu e perguntou, de novo:
—E o oleiro?
—Lavrará a madeira, usará a enxó e o serrote, o martelo e o formão.

Christian worship at home

The firmament had been populated with stars, within the silvery moonlit night, when the Lord, temporarily installed in Peter's house, took the Sacred Writings and, as if he wanted to give a new direction to the conversation that had become unproductive and less edifying, spoke with kindness:
—Simon, what does the fisherman do when he goes to the market with his daily fruits?
The apostle thought for a few moments and replied hesitantly:
“Master, naturally, we chose the best fish. Nobody buys fishing waste.
Jesus smiled and asked again:
—And the potter? What does it do to fulfill the task it sets out to do?
"Certainly, Sir," replied the fisherman, intrigued, "model the clay, giving it the shape you want."
The Celeste Friend, with a compassionate and glowing gaze, insisted:
"And how does the carpenter go about getting the job he wants?"
The interlocutor, very simple, informed without hesitation:
“He will work the wood, use the adze and the saw, the hammer and the chisel. Otherwise, he will not perfect the blank.
Jesus was silent for a few moments, and added:
“So, too, is home before the world. The domestic cradle is the first school and the first temple of the soul. The man's house is the legitimate exporter of characters for common life. If the merchant selects the merchandise, if the joiner cannot make a boat without adapting the wood to his purposes, how can one expect a safe and peaceful community without the home being improved?
The peace of the world begins under the tiles we welcome. If we don't learn to live in peace, within four walls, how can we hope for the harmony of nations?
If we don't get used to loving our close brother and sister, associated with our daily struggle, how can we respect the Eternal Father who seems distant to us?
Jesus glanced around the modest room, took a short break, and continued:
—Peter, let us light a new light here, around those who seek fraternal assistance. The table of your house is the home of your bread. In it you receive from the Lord food for each day. Why not install, around her, the seed of happiness and peace in conversation and thought? The Father, who gives us wheat for the barn, through the ground, sends us light through Heaven. If clarity is the expansion of the rays that constitute it, abundance begins in the grain. For this reason, the Gospel did not begin in the crowd, but in the simple home of shepherds and animals.
Simon Peter looked at the Master with humble and lucid eyes and, as he could not find adequate words to explain himself, he murmured shyly:
“Master, be done as you wish.
So Jesus, inviting the apostle's family to edifying talk and elevated meditation, unrolled the wisdom writings and opened the first Christian home service on earth.
