Apontamentos do ancião / Elder's notes

Agride publicamente a Lei.
O velhinho fez intervalo expressivo e ajuntou:

Elder's notes

Faced with the annoyances that plagued his spirit, before public opinion raving about his memory, humble “dead journalist” heard a serene old man, who spoke to him with wisdom:
—When Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding feast of Cana, the slanderers whispered around them:
-What is this? A messiah, encouraging drunkenness?
Later, in meeting with the fishermen of Galilee, the mob unconsciously noted:
“He's a bum in search of people as unclassified as himself. Why doesn't he look for the main ones?
After the first sermons, the ignorant crowd, instead of recognizing the benefits of the Divine Word, commented irreverently:
“It's unyielding. He lives without schedules, without service disciplines.
At the sight of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, the crowd was not moved as much as one might expect. Many people asked, frowning:
-As? A mentor supporting idlers?
Cleaning the wounds of some Lazarus who were looking for him, he said, in a whisper:
—You use the foolishness of fools to impress!
And when they saw him heal a paralytic on the Sabbath, they considered their enemies gratuitous:
Publicly violates the law.
By accepting Mary of Magdala's affectionate regard, the slanderers muttered:
“He IS a common troublemaker. He can't even buckle the mask to his face,
in the company of a vile creature, the bearer of seven demons.
When making use of the contribution of noble ladies, like Joan of Cusa, in the unfolding of the apostolate, exclamations such as these sounded:
"He IS an exploiter of pious women!"
He lives on the money of the rich, though he passes himself off as virtuous!
—Because if he took a few minutes, with sinful publicans, in order to teach them the science of intimate renewal, they would accuse him, without compassion:
"He IS a life-giver like the others!"
If he sought silent landscapes for comfort in prayer, he would shout himself with disrespect:
“This is a lone savior, too proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people.
As he approached the Samaritan woman, with the purpose of helping her soul, he asked himself with malice:
"What does he do in the company of a woman who's belonged to several husbands?"
At the entreaties of a centurion full of faith, levity intrigued:
He is a flatterer of maddened Romans.
Visiting Zacchaeus, he heard ironic remarks:
“He IS a preacher from Heaven who makes sure of himself with the mighty lords of Earth…
Embracing the blind man of Jericho, he recorded the inquiry that was being made around his steps:
"What reasons bind you to so many filthy people?"
Entering Jerusalem on the feast day, and unable to prevent the rejoicing of those who trusted in his ministry, he affronted sarcastic sentences:
'He's gone with the revolutionary!' Death to the false prophet!…
Censoring the low commercialism of the great Temple of Solomon, they openly said:
— He IS a criminal persecuting Moses.
Raising Lazarus in the tomb, they shouted no, far away:
— He IS Satan himself!…
Gathering the companions at the last supper, for the farewell, and washing their feet, they observed in the vicinity of the upper room:
— He IS poor deranged.
As he allowed himself to be held without resistance, he objected to the crowd:
— He IS a coward! He has compromised many and flees without reaction!
Receiving the wood, they shouted in his ears:
—Desert! You will pay for your crimes!
In supreme martyrdom he was apostrophized without pity:
-Sorcerer! Where will your defenders come from?
Tortured, in agony, he heard from countless mouths:
—Save yourself and come down from the cross!
And before the corpse came into the maternal arms, trembling with anguish, many people returned from Golgotha, muttering:
“You got the end you deserved, among thieves.
The old man took an expressive break and added:
—As you know, this happened to Jesus-Christ, the Divine Spiritual Governor of the Planet.
He smiled, affable, and concluded:
—Indebted as we are, that we must wait in our turn from the multitudes of Earth?
It was then that I saw the poor disembodied writer display a face of joy, which degenerated into a crystalline and tasty laugh…
