É indispensável evitar a idolatria em todas as circunstâncias. Suas manifestações sempre representaram sérios perigos para a vida espiritual.
As crenças antigas permanecem repletas de cultos exteriores e de ídolos mortos.
O Consolador, enviado ao mundo, na venerável missão espiritista, vigiará contra esse venenoso processo de paralisia da alma.
Aqui e acolá, surgem pruridos de adoração que se faz imprescindível combater. Não mais imagens dos círculos humanos, nem instrumentos físicos supostamente santificados para cerimônias convencionais, mas entidades amigas e médiuns terrenos que a inconsciência alheia vai entronizando, inadvertidamente, no altar frágil de honrarias fantasiosas. É necessário reconhecer que aí temos um perigo sutil, através do qual inúmeros trabalhadores têm resvalado para o despenhadeiro da inutilidade.
As homenagens inoportunas costumam perverter os médiuns dedicados e inexperientes, além de criarem certa atmosfera de incompreensão que impede a exteriorização espontânea dos verdadeiros amigos do bem, no plano espiritual.
Ninguém se esqueça da condição de aperfeiçoamento relativo dos mensageiros desencarnados que se comunicam e do quadro de necessidades imediatas da vida dos medianeiros humanos.
Combatamos os ídolos falsos que ameaçam o Espiritismo cristão. Utilize cada discípulo os amplos recursos da lei de cooperação, atire-se ao esforço próprio com sincero devotamento à tarefa e lembremo-nos todos de que, no apostolado do Mestre Divino, o amor e a fidelidade a Deus constituíram o tema central.

Subtle dangers

It is indispensable to avoid idolatry in all circumstances. Its manifestations have always represented serious dangers for the spiritual life.
Ancient beliefs remain full of outer cults and dead idols.
The Consolator, sent to the world, in the venerable spiritist mission, will guard against this poisonous process of paralysis of the soul.
Here and there, itchings of adoration arise that it is essential to fight. No more images of human circles, nor physical instruments supposedly sanctified for conventional ceremonies, but friendly entities and earthly mediums that the unconsciousness of others inadvertently enthrones on the fragile altar of fanciful honors. It is necessary to recognize that here we have a subtle danger, through which countless workers have slipped down the cliff of uselessness.
Inopportune tributes tend to pervert dedicated and inexperienced mediums, in addition to creating a certain atmosphere of incomprehension that prevents the spontaneous expression of true friends of good, on the spiritual plane.
Let no one forget the condition of relative improvement of the discarnate messengers who communicate and the picture of immediate needs in the life of human mediators.
Let us fight the false idols that threaten Christian Spiritism. Let each disciple use the ample resources of the law of cooperation, throw himself into his own effort with sincere devotion to the task and let us all remember that, in the apostolate of the Divine Master, love and fidelity to God constituted the central theme.
