Os companheiros diretos do Mestre Divino não estabeleceram os serviços da comunidade cristã sobre princípios cristalizados, inamovíveis. Cultuaram a ordem, a hierarquia e a disciplina, mas amparavam também o espírito do povo, distribuindo os bens da revelação espiritual, segundo a capacidade receptiva de cada um dos candidatos à nova fé.
Negar, presentemente, a legitimidade do esforço espiritista, em nome da fé cristã, é testemunho de ignorância ou leviandade.
Os discípulos do Senhor conheciam a importância da certeza na sobrevivência para o triunfo na vida moral. Eles mesmos se viram radicalmente transformados, após a ressurreição do Amigo Celeste, ao reconhecerem que o amor e a justiça regem o ser além do túmulo. Por isso mesmo, atraíam companheiros novos, transmitindo-lhes a convicção de que o Mestre prosseguia vivo e operoso, para lá do sepulcro.
Em razão disso, o ministério apostólico não se dividia tão-somente na discussão dos problemas intelectuais da crença e nos louvores adorativos. Os continuadores do Cristo forneciam, “com grande poder, testemunho da ressurreição do Senhor Jesus” e, em face do amor com que se devotavam à obra salvacionista, neles havia “abundante graça”.
O Espiritismo evangélico vem movimentar o serviço divino que envolve em si, não somente a crença consoladora, mas também o conhecimento indiscutível da imortalidade.
As escolas dogmáticas prosseguirão alinhando artigos de fé inoperante, congelando as ideias em absurdos afirmativos, mas o Espiritismo cristão vem restaurar, em suas atividades redentoras, o ensinamento da ressurreição individual, consagrado pelo Mestre Divino, que voltou, Ele mesmo, das sombras da morte, para exaltar a continuidade da vida.

Because of this, the apostolic ministry was not divided only in the discussion of the intellectual problems of the belief and in the adoring praises. The continuators of the Christ provided, "with great power, testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus" and, in view of the love with which they devoted themselves to the salvationist work, in them there was "abundant grace."
